How the PT Distinction App Works for New Clients (Onboarding Walkthrough)
Once you’ve set up your client in PT Distinction, the onboarding process is fast and smooth—for both you and them.
Here’s exactly what your client experiences and how it all works from setup to feedback.
Step 1: Your Client Receives Their Login and App Links
As soon as you add a new client:
They receive an email with their login details.
The email also contains links to the app and login pages.
Clients can copy/paste their login info and access the app immediately.
Step 2: Clients See Their Dashboard First
When logging in, the dashboard is the first thing your client sees.
The dashboard displays everything scheduled for that day.
To simplify the experience, schedule key items like:
Welcome documents
Programs
Forms
Nutrition guides
This way, all they have to do is log in, click the item, and choose to:
View it
Reschedule it
Mark it as complete
Step 3: Onboarding Through the Welcome Document
Clicking on the scheduled welcome document will:
Walk them through the app’s layout.
Guide them to the tabs at the bottom of the app:
Schedule: Shows current and upcoming tasks.
Programs: Training plans (once you’ve assigned them).
Guides: For example, Introduction to Nutrition and Your Journey Begins Now.
Logbook: Where they’ll find their assigned forms.
The welcome doc helps clients confidently explore the app from day one.
Step 4: Clients Complete Forms Inside the App
Clients can access and complete forms directly inside the app:
Tap into the Logbook.
Click on any form to read and fill it out.
Everything is done right there—no extra tools required.
Once submitted, their responses go straight back to your coach dashboard.
Step 5: View Client Progress and Respond in the Activity Feed
Back on your mobile coach dashboard:
Go to the Activity Feed.
You’ll see exactly what your client has completed.
Click into it to review and give feedback.
You can respond with:
Text comments
Voice notes
Emojis
